Long Overdue Update

Oops, I did it again. I promised that I wouldn't go so long between updates and this time I went longer than ever. I feel like I owe everyone a more detailed explanation. See, in retrospect, when I was younger, I couldn't actually do that much. I was an accomplished blogger already, but I didn't have the many other notable skills that I have now. So I spent a lot of time just chilling on the couch or in a few chairs that I have. Plus the weather was bad so we were indoors a lot. Now I can sit up and play on the floor, I can roll and scoot around on the carpet, and stand up if I lean against the couch or ottoman. And I go for lots of long walks now that the weather is warm (I'm a pretty famous baby downtown, I have to say). So, it's not like I am just sitting around...but I promise to try to blog a little more.

First, I have been really remiss in telling everyone about my friend Jane. Jane and I hang out at the house three days a week when Mom and Dad go to work. We have just the best time. We play lots of fun games at the house, she feeds me and takes care of me, and she takes me for lots of fun walks. I love the time we get to spend together. Here's a picture of us hanging out on Fountain Square.

One of my favorite things to do these days is to jump around in this new fun toy that Mom bought me. Just call me Air Baby Jack.

A few weeks ago we went swimming with my friend Bella and her parents.

I'm starting to get the hang of the swimming thing, as I also did well when I went to Grandma and Grandpa's club pool and to the pool at Mr. and Mrs. Benedict's house.

I continue to go to Reds game from time to time. Dad was talking about the Reds ever since I was born. Frankly, I don't see what is to be so excited about. I just end up chewing on my pacifier most of the game.

A few weeks ago I got together with Mom and her friends. It was the first time I had gotten together with my Aunts Kristy and Sarah. It was nice to meet them and lots of fun. Of course it's always nice to see Aunts Christina and Sara as well.

Last weekend we went down to Louisville to see Mom's family. It's always so great to hang out with my Frances, Todd and Rebecca, and Papaw and Mimi. In these pictures though I was just hanging out with Dad, we were watching Tom and Jerry when someone got our attention.

Finally, I inexcusably failed to mention two really important events. First was Mommy's birthday about a week ago. We had such a fun day hanging out with one another. Happy belated birthday, Mommy!

Also, it was Daddy's first Father's Day a few weeks ago. We played with Daddy the whole day and we also saw Dad's family in the afternoon. Here's a fun picture of a bunch of fathers and sons.

Mom and I got Dad some really great golf things, but our main gift was a book that I put together for him. Lucky enough for all of you, I am able to show you what the book is. Here's a link, you should really take a look.

We go on vacation next week, so expect some fun pictures. Talk to everyone soon.

Love,
Jack

I'm Back!

Hi everyone, I am so sorry that I have been quiet. A big internet company was fishing around, thinking of making an offer to buy this website I've created; something about it being a huge web traffic draw. Their offer was tempting - they said they would fill both of my piggy banks and buy me some onesies that aren't so tight - but in the end I wanted to keep doing what I was doing, so I am back blogging.

By the way, I am seven months old today -- can you believe it?

(BPM editorial comment -- what's so funny about the above picture is that if you look closely enough, he is actually sitting in front of the blogger homepage).

So, what have I been doing, you ask...lots of things. I continue to be just such a happy baby. I laugh and giggle all of the time. Mom and Dad bought me a new toy where I can bounce up and down, I just love it. I continue to hang out with Grandma and Jane when Mom and Dad go to work. I roll over like a pro and I can scoot around if I lay on my back and push with my feet (not so good at the crawling if I am on my belly).

I am very ticklish, I have to confess. Mom and Dad are determined to take full advantage of it.

I've been to probably more Reds game than any other baby my age. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Here's me with Grandpa.

I'm learning to sit up pretty reliably now, so it won't be long until I don't need help in the bath. But since I still tip over every now and then, Dad still hops in with me. I think he actually likes it and doesn't want to admit I don't really need his help like I used to; that's my theory anyway. No worry, as we have fun, I like having him along.

The only trip I have taken recently was into Kentucky over Memorial Day. First we went to Uncle Todd and Aunt Rebecca's in Louisville. Their dog Big used to be my size but he's growing a lot faster than me. Here I am laughing at him (safely on the other side of the door).

I didn't stay too long in Louisville at Papaw Boggs came and picked me up and took me down to Papaw and Mimi's house in Bardstown. So fun. I stayed with them without Mom and Dad Friday night and then everyone came over on Saturday. I had lots of fun hanging out, here's my favorite picture from the weekend.

But all of the fun made me a little tired, so I needed to rest.

Anyway, I am sorry I was gone so long. I hope to see everyone soon.

Love,
Jack
