Christmas with Dad's Family

After I spent the night of the 23rd in Louisville with Mom's family, we got up and came back to Cincinnati to continue our Christmas celebration. We went to church downtown on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. I was an angel during church, it went really well. After that we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's and hung out with Grandma's family (Greatgrandma and Greatgrandpa Jones, as well as Grandma's sister and her family). We had a lot of fun hanging out together (except the Bengals game, which I would rather not discuss). I got some really nice things, including a really neat picture of me that Greatgrandpa made that I am going to hang up in my room.

On Christmas morning I woke up at home with Mom and Dad. The three of us (along with the cats) had a great Christmas morning together. Mom and Dad got me some nice things, and Santa came to see me and brought me some fun clothes and a playmat on the floor. I guess I had been a good boy these last few weeks.

Then we went back over to Grandma and Grandpa's house and hung out with Dad's family again. Here are a few pictures of hanging out on Christmas morning.





After we hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's for a while, we went over to Great-Grandpa Muething's house with Grandpa's family. Wow. This was quite a scene, over 50 people and lots of things to do and see. A lot of people were nice enough to hold me (see the pictures below) and I also got some nice presents.

Despite how much fun I was having, the previous three days had started to catch up with me. Even though it was Christmas, I couldn't keep my eyes open, if you can believe that. In fact, you can see below when I was hanging out with cousin Rachel and Uncle Tom, I was knocked out. You can imagine how tired I was to sleep through all of that noise.




Anyway, Christmas was as good as I had heard about. I had lots of fun over those days and got to see so many of my extended family members. I can't wait for Christmas to come around again.

Christmas with Mom's Family

From Frankfort we made our way down to Aunt Rebecca's house in Louisville where we met up with the Boggs clan. Everyone else had a huge feast, though I stuck to my normal fare. We exchanged gifts all around and I got some really fun stuff, people were very nice to me. I had fun hanging out with everyone, there are some good pictures below of me hanging out with my family, including Papaw Boggs, Aunt Rebecca, and cousin Allison. You can also see my fancy new Christmas elf outfit that I broke out for the first time on this trip. We spent the night down in Louisville and I slept pretty well away from home. All told, a really good time.

Meeting Candy, Corey, and Gaby

My first stop on my long weekend was in Frankfort, Kentucky where I met Mom's friends Candy and Corey, along with their little (well, everyone else calls her little but 14 months old seems pretty darn big to me) girl. It was a lot of fun to meet them. Some of the stories they told about Mom had me laughing pretty good.

For a while we just sort of sat around on the couch...

After a little while Candy wanted to hold me, which I am always fine with...

After a bit I went over to see Corey and I did my "head back" routine. Corey obviously saw that my approach has merit since after a very short while he was doing just like I do.

And let me just say that Gaby is a pretty darn cute girl. I am going to have to keep my eye on her...

I'm Back!

The radio silence is over. I know it's been a while since I last posted and I hope you didn't tune out in the interim. I promise regular updates starting again.

I actually even have an excuse. See, Dad got sick and hasn't been doing too much of anything (spare him the "what else is new?" jokes until he feels 100%). You might ask how that keeps me from getting on the computer and blogging. Good question. It doesn't directly, but I have been so busy trying to take care of him that I just haven't had a minute to blog. So, I'm sorry.

I hope I have made it up to you with the two posts below. And in an effort to make sure I retain my viewership, I am going with an assortment of random, previously unpublished pictures.

Chicago II - Meeting Dad's Friends

I described my trip to Chicago in detail below. One part I left out was that on Monday I got the chance to meet some of Dad's friends who were nice enough to come see me. None of them have kids yet, so I am not entirely sure they knew what to do with me. Fortunately Mom and Dad offered them pizza and beer with which they seemed much more at ease. Anyway, here are some pictures.

Road Trip!

Last Saturday, Mom, Dad and I piled in the car and headed out for Chicago, which is where Kyoko Obachan lives (for those that don't know, that's Mom's Mom and Obachan is a Japanese word for grandmother). We were headed there to celebrate Christmas. This was pretty great since a long road trip like this and Chicago and Christmas are all new things to me.

We had a lot of fun, that's for sure. Kyoko Obachan lives downtown just like we do at home, but it's so big in Chicago and there was a lot going on. Though sometimes the silliest things catch my eye for long periods of time, as you can see, the views at Obachan's were plenty nice to keep me interested.

Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Todd were there too, so that was fun. I did some hanging out in the condo and I also did some shopping and hanging out in the city. I think I had the most fun on Monday when I went out shopping with Mom, Dad, and Kyoko Obachan.

One funny story was when Obachan kept showing me some friends of mine in the mirror. Some pretty good looking guys if I do say so myself. However, there was this one guy I didn't like as well who cried a lot. The other guys seemed to never cry and they were pretty cool.

And let me just say that this Christmas thing is off to a great start. I got lots of fun stuff from Obachan and Ed and Todd and Rebecca. In fact, even the blanket that Todd and Rebecca got for Mom and Dad has come in pretty handy in some naps Mom and I have taken. So, all told, a great trip.

The Power of Genetics

I was over at Grandma and Grandpa's recently and I started looking through old pictures of Dad from when he was my age. I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but I think I should just get used to looking like Dad. I don't know if I can get around these genes. The Raiders? This is going to be a joke. I'm eager to see how many touchdowns Carson will have. In fact, I am already dressed and in my spot waiting for the game.

A Day With the Boggs Clan

Hey everyone. Yesterday I spent a really fun day with Mom's family. We were down in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and I saw and met lots of nice people - Papaw and Mimi Boggs, Aunts Rebecca and Frances as well as Uncle Todd, cousin Katelin, and many others. Anyway here are just a few pictures.

I'm a Month Old!

Hi everyone! It's hard to believe but it's my one month birthday today. I was looking back over my blog and realizing that I have really done a lot in a month's time. And I sure have met lots of nice people.

In that time I have done a little crying and a lot of sleeping. Oh, and a whole bunch of eating too. You don't grow from this:

by missing too many meals.

All the while I have been having lots of fun with Mom and Dad. And I think they are getting the hang of taking care of me. For instance, in this picture Dad has me, the computer, the remotes and the cats. Pretty good.

Though I think it made us both tired.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing lots of people over these next few holiday weeks. I'm hearing good things about this "Christmas."
